"This is what Rom-Coms are all about" - Eccy

13 minutes. That’s how long it took for me to cry while watching this film.

From the moment I watched the trailer, I knew this film was right up my street: an emotional, heartwarming, and heartbreaking rom-com that I knew would completely break me.

Voicemails for Isabelle is a blend of so many beloved films, even referencing some of them directly. It evokes You’ve Got Mail, When Harry Met Sally, and The Fault in Our Stars. While it feels reminiscent of those movies, it still manages to be original in its own way.

Zoey Deutch (an actress I absolutely love) has fantastic on screen chemistry with her co-lead, Nick Robinson. Their romance genuinely shines, and thanks to their charismatic performances, this somewhat intrusive plotline still feels deeply romantic. When I wasn’t sitting in tears, I was completely entranced by the love story unfolding on screen.

Zoey Deutch is an absolute standout. Her energetic performance made me laugh, while her heavier emotional scenes felt incredibly believable. This film gave me exactly what I wanted.

This is undeniably a classic romance, and I wasn’t expecting anything more. I have a feeling it’s going to become a beloved film among the audience it’s clearly catered for.

Voicemails for Isabelle is filled with both laughs and tears, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who simply loves love.
