Did a standing ovation at the end for Joey King’s agent for all the hard work they’ve done to get them roles and gloss over her acting talent in marketing, and some of the other people in the cinema raised their margaritas thinking I enjoyed the film. I don’t know which part I felt more shameless… maybe the part where I chose to watch this sorry excuse of a legacy sequel
Bullock and Kidman take the best of their comedic talent to infuse this with energy and emotion, but the story is more cursed than the Owen family.
Nonsensical at times, mostly within the conflict and antagonistic presence scattered about that never came off with the messaging behind this sisterly bond. Joey King, surprisingly better than I thought but that is still levels below the nine layers of Hell. Call it mean-spirited, I have never enjoyed a single lead/supporting role she’s had and I’ve not even ventured into the universally negatively acclaimed dumpster dive that is the Kissing Booth trilogy.
Force your mind into disowning what the film is except Bullock and Kidman’s insane chemistry together and you got yourself a decent time. If it weren’t for them, I would be acting like I would at a hypothetical midnight Margs, asleep with the glass slipping out of my hand dreaming like Dorothy.
