Like with previous seasons in this show, Reacher continues to be a never-stopping ramming bull of violence and acute intelligence that goes through everything suspicious and wrong on his travels. But this time is a rise above every past introduction with a poignant, darker conflict to kick Reacher’s involvement right off.
The side characters revolve around a variety of roles in life that makes them feel like a new breath of fresh air compared to the previous bunch that follow Reacher throughout the season. The action is amped up too, with a more fluid and intense choreography being fully shown without any jarring cuts to take away from the impact of every hit. It’s a blessing to watch action without feeling a concussion of the tragic editing that occurs in similar shows and films.
As opening’s go for a show of this calibre, I never felt more intrigued and hyped to see it play out in it’s entirety. Alan Ritchson is terrific in the role like usual, and If this season proves anything to fans and the creatives behind it, we need more of him and Reacher.
